Big Green Egg

I just purchased a Big Green Egg, which of course makes me an Egghead.

I've owned many grills over the years, the latest being a Weber Genesis Gold (a previous version of this Genesis Gold C grill, but without the side burner and the storage doors.) It is a decent enough grill, but not so good for smoking and low temperature cooks. I've had a Brinkmann Vertical Gas Smoker for a year now. It just doesn't have the guts to heat much beyond 225°. I've worked with the burner valve, but it appears to be functioning as designed. After consultation with She Who Must Be Obeyed, we purchased a Big Green Egg.

If you don't know, a Big Green Egg (BGE) is a ceramic cooker. It can handle temperatures from 100° – 900°+. Most importantly, it will hold a temperature for a long time, like over night when doing a low and slow smoke.

I purchased a Large BGE, with a nest and side shelves. When I get my woodworking shop back, I'll make a table.
