Mix 4:1 ratio of water to kosher salt in a pot and bring to boil until water is clear. If salt doesn't fully disolve, add a bit more water.

Pour salt water into wide non-reactive dish. Allow to cool, then allow to evaporate. This will take days.

You now have flaky salt!
